House panel follows Senate lead in leaving renewable energy out of proposed bill

Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam last month recommended allowing utilities to charge their customers more for building up to 75 megawatts per year of renewable energy. But Rep. Scott Plakon, chairman of the House Energy & Utilities Subcommittee, said "we are very concerned about rate increases" in explaining why it was left out of the bill.
